Yoshiki Tanaka, I think I was everyone’s idol. When I was a second-year high school student, I was at a private art lab studio making a large bird sculpture out of cardboard for an art show. A teacher at the studio told me about a story called Jonathan Livingston Chicken, in which a rooster god attacks a fried chicken place. When the teacher also said, “It is a parody of Jonathan Livingston Seagull,” I, who had no idea who or what Richard Bach was stopped my hands for the sculpture, went to library and skimmed the Jonathan books (both the seagull one and chicken one). After I got back to my sculpture, the large bird became a large tornado-causing rooster, which was highly admired and appreciated later at the art show. Many people asked me to be in their pictures and I won a prize money which got me to eat KFC fried chickens. I wanted to brag about it badly to a friend, who was in art club at my high school. So I jokingly said to him, “You might want to make something great and eat fried chickens too.” Then he said to me, “You want to see something great and that’s why you tell me to be better and sometimes you pretend to give up on me, but I always care about you and see what you do.
