Rena Kudoh was born in Miyagi in 1994 and graduated from Tohoku University of Art & Design in 2017 with a BFA in oil painting. Currently, she does not have a base, but stays and works in various places, mainly in Asia. Based on the personal chaos of anonymous memories, childhood self that cannot be discarded, and sudden dreams that blend together as he moves from one place to another, he creates a world that seems familiar but is not familiar through paintings, ceramics, drawings, and other mediums of expression. Recent major solo exhibitions include “Unpublic Mother and Child” (Shiogama Sugimura Jun Museum of Art, Miyagi, 2022), “All alone, Two hugs. All three of us together. Yes fillet” (VOU, Kyoto, 2022). Group exhibitions include “CONTACT” (Clayarch Gimhae Museum, Gimhae, South Korea, 2020), “Reborn-Art Festival 2019” (Miyagi, 2019). Artist-in-residencies include “Artist In residency in Ceramic Creative Center” (Clayarch Gimhae Museum, Gimhae, South Korea, 2020), “Artist Support Project Yogyakarta” (Yogyakarta, Indonesia, 2019). She is actively involved in numerous exhibitions and artist-in-residence programs in Japan and abroad.
