Kento Nito

Born in Saitama Prefecture in 1986, Kento Nito received a bachelor’s degree in sculpture from the College of Art and Design in Musashino Art University and a degree in sculpture from Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School. While based in sculpture, he also creates works in a wide range of other genres, such as photography, video, and installations. The main exhibitions in which he has participated include In a Grove at LEESAYA (2020), NEW VISION SAITAMA 5 at the Museum of Modern Art, Saitama; and Aichi Triennale 2016, in the venue on the third floor of the building housing Higashi-Okazaki Station. In recent years, he has also set his hand to scenographic direction and appeared in performances himself. As this indicates, he is actively exploring the relationship between sculpture and physical expression.
