MEI-MEI ART is an art project by Itaru OGAWA, a painter living in Nagano Prefecture.
Supported by the Nagano Prefecture , it is now online.

MEI-MEI ART provides the basis for an imaginative relationship between the artist and the audience. And it is an experiment in non-monetary exchange of ideas. It is also an experiment in non-monetary exchange of ideas, to make art accessible to everyone.
The Japanese word "MEI-MEI" means "to give a name" and also means "each individual".

As of August 2020, we are facing a historically difficult time due to the spread of the new corona virus.
As an artist looking for a way to relate to society, I want to offer you a positive change of pace through art.
And I also want to work with you to hope for the future and to cultivate a positive imagination of reality.
It is with these hopes that I will carry out this project.

Lastly, I would like to thank the Nagano Prefectural Government for their support and for watching the slow progress of my project.
I would also like to thank the director of Art Center Ongoing in Tokyo, Nozomu Ogawa, for undertaking a project that would have been impossible for me to do on my own, despite the critical situation of his own art activities.
