End of 2 month residency exhibition by UK based artist Benedict Coleman.  
To be in the right place at the right time, objects are collected and inspiration is noticed by accident or by chance. A wrong turn down a street or a glance out of a train window reveal new shapes, designs, and ideas. 100 yen and recycle shops, tidelines on beaches, curbside bushes, supermarkets, all become places to hunt and salvage material.
This exhibition showcases a variety of new work, all made during the residency period at Art Center Ongoing. By Chance is the latest extension of an ever-developing playful practice of both 3D and 2D artworks, centering on the use of found objects and other household items as artistic medium. Referencing day to day moments and themes, artworks in the exhibition remain partly recognisable whilst being abstract and puzzling. 

英国を拠点とするアーティスト、Benedict Colemanによる2ヶ月間のレジデンスが終わりを迎えます。
「適切な場所に適切なタイミングで存在する」ために、オブジェクトは集められ、インスピレーションは偶然や気まぐれによって訪れます。道を間違えて曲がったり、電車の窓からふと外を眺めたりすることで、新しい形やデザイン、アイデアが浮かび上がってきます。100円ショップやリサイクルショップ、浜辺の潮の引いた跡、道端の茂み、スーパーマーケット――これらすべてが、素材を探し出し、回収する場所となるのです。
本展では、アートセンター・オンゴーイングでのレジデンス期間中に制作された多彩な新作を展示します。「By Chance」は、拾った物やその他の日用品を芸術的媒体として用いることを中心に、3Dおよび2Dの両方において絶えず発展を続ける遊び心あふれる制作活動の、最新の展開です。日常の瞬間やテーマを参照しつつ、展示作品は抽象的かつ謎めいた印象を与えつつも、部分的には認識可能な形を保っています。
